WYNNE, AR (KAIT) - A Cross County man was arrested after he reportedly exchanged sexually explicit messages with someone he thought was a 14-year-old girl, police said Wednesday.

Instead, it was investigators.

Michael C. Hughes of Wynne was arrested on suspicion of Internet stalking of a child after an undercover investigation by the 1st Judicial District Drug Task Force.

According to a post on the DTF's Facebook page, Hughes was communicating with someone he believed was a 14-year-old female and sent photos of his genitalia, offered to perform sex acts on the female and reportedly told her he wanted to meet with her for sex.

Hughes was arrested at his home minutes after he sent the last text, police said.

"Hughes was interviewed by DTF agents and acknowledged having exchanged messages with what he believed to be a 14-year-old female but declined any wrongdoing and said she tried to seduce him," the post noted.

A $50,000 bond was set for Hughes, who was ordered not to have any communications with anyone under the age of 18.
