JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Minnie is a growing pup now. But she was found very malnourished by a family that took her in for a few days while trying to find her owners. They have not been found.
But, this 7-month-old hound mix has gained some of the weight she was missing.
"We are feeding her a special diet every three hours until she gets able to feed twice daily like the other dogs and puppies at the shelter," said Kelly Ford, office manager for the Northeast Arkansas Humane Society. "Her prognosis is very good. We've already seen a difference in her coloring. Her eyes light up now when she sees you and, boy, does she love to play fetch!"
Adoption fees for puppies and dogs at NEAHS are $160, and $75 for kittens and cats. That includes spay/neuter, a microchip, and rabies vaccine that is good for one year.
"We're looking for a special 'someone' that will love Minnie, and show her a wonderful life," Ford said. "She's up-to-date on all vaccinations, will be spayed before leaving the shelter, have a microchip, and a rabies vaccination good for one year."
NEAHS is located at 6111 E. Highland Dr. in Jonesboro. They are open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and closed on Sundays. For more information, call 870-932-5185 or visit their Facebook page.
