KEISER, AR (KAIT) - - Recovery efforts are underway in Keiser after Saturday's tornado and a Region 8 community is there to help.
Brookland Mayor Kenneth Jones said they were asked to help storm cleanup efforts, so Brookland sent a crew of three men and two pieces of equipment to help get the job done.
Street Supervisor Billy Pirtle said they were out at 8 a.m. cleaning up debris, including rooftops and large limbs.
Pirtle says it's important to help neighboring communities in need because it could have easily been Brookland that needed help.
"I think it's very good if we can do it," Pirtle said. "Good for anybody to help anybody that they can."
Keiser was one of the hardest hit places in Region 8.
The EF-1 tornado that hit with 90 miles per hour winds left two businesses in Keiser severely damaged, along with the library and countless homes.
