Region 8 Teacher Pleads Guilty to Sexual Assault

MELBOURNE, AR - A former agriculture teacher has pleaded guilty to second-degree sexual assault, avoiding jail time when he had faced 96 years in prison.

Steven Mitchell, who also was a former assistant principal at Melbourne High School (Izard County), must now register as a sex offender.  He had faced 14 counts.
