JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A man is being held on a $75,000 bond after police say he robbed a woman at knifepoint at a Jonesboro motel.

The victim told police she asked Carnell Snell if she could take a shower in his room at Park Place Inn, 1421 S. Caraway, on Thursday.

When she came out of the shower, the woman said the 30-year-old suspect started "acting crazy and accusing her of stealing items from the room."

The woman said she tried to grab her stuff and run out of the room, but "Snell grabbed her and held a knife to her arm."

She said Snell then took her cell phone, watch, and necklace. During the struggle, she said Snell "ripped the strap off of her purse."

When officers went to Snell's room, they reported finding the woman's belongings. According to the affidavit, they also found a pair of pants and purse strap in the room's garbage can.

"Snell was also in possession of the knife that was used in the robbery," detectives said.

Snell remains in the Craighead County Detention Center after Craighead County District Judge David Boling found probable cause to charge him with aggravated robbery.
