CLAY COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - Clay County Judge Mike Patterson said the county is working to repair the damage done after severe weather hit recently.
An Arkansas Department of Emergency Management coordinator and the Clay County Office of Emergency Management coordinator assessed the damaged areas across the county on Monday.
Judge Patterson said ADEM could help the county get much needed funding to repair damaged roads and other areas in the county.
"They come up here and assess the damage on what's going on here," he said. "If we need any type of help from the state we can give them a call and they know the right people to send down here to help us."
Patterson says the county is not planning to qualify as a federal disaster which means they will not receive money from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Patterson said because of this ADEM plays a pivotal role in getting money for necessary repairs.
