WASHINGTON, DC (KAIT) - An Arkansas woman was arrested at the nation's capital during a protest against the deportation of undocumented young immigrants.

According to the United We Dream's Facebook page, Blanca Barroso, of Springdale, was arrested on Monday.

Both United We Dream and the Arkansas United Community Coalition are non-profit organizations that advocate for the DACA recipients, known as Dreamers.

While United We Dream's protest was in Washington, D.C., AUCC held a similar protest over the Deferred Action For Childhood Arrivals program at the Arkansas State Capitol in Little Rock.

The Monday protests came on the same day President Donald Trump had set the deadline for a decision on DACA for March 5. However, lawmakers have yet to come up with legislation over the program.

Last week, Region 8 News reported the U.S. Supreme Court declined to take up the DACA case for now.
