JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - An education forum was hosted at Jonesboro High School Tuesday night to inform the public and neighboring schools about the successes happening in public schools.
Superintendents and principals from Jonesboro, Paragould, Harrisburg, Newport and Lawrence County school districts all shared stories about what is working well in their classrooms.
The Arkansas Education Association was one of the hosts of the forum.
"The greatest thing about getting people to come together and have a positive conversation is that we focus on students and student success," AEA President Cathy Koehler said. "Every adult that is present this evening is here to celebrate what is working and what is making students successful. It's time we focus on positive things that are occurring and our students."
School leaders were able to share their ideas about how to use technology effectively in classrooms at each grade level.
"Our hope is that the people who leave here tonight will have a renewed sense of the value of public education in their local communities," Koehler said. "That they'll be willing to engage students and come into the schools and be a part of building their community public school district."
