JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A new program will give Jonesboro City Water and Light customers another way to pay their monthly bills, with utility officials saying that it will also provide some convenience.
CWL is working with Pay Near Me, a company that allows people to pay their bills with cash. Currently, customers can only pay their bills with cash at the utility's office in Jonesboro.
The new program allows people to pay all or part of their bills with cash at four other locations in Jonesboro.
- Casey's General Store, 2920 South Caraway Road, Jonesboro.
- Family Dollar, 316 East Johnson Ave., Jonesboro.
- Family Dollar, 106 South Gee St., Jonesboro.
- CVS Pharmacy, 110 Southwest Drive, Jonesboro.
There is also a $1.99 convenience fee for all bills paid if people decide to choose to pay their bills at the four locations, officials said.
An official with the utility said the new program will provide an opportunity to pay a monthly bill at the customer's convenience.
"It allows people who are paying with cash - to pay in their neighborhoods," David Belk, CWL Financial Services Director said. "Many of these businesses are open 24 hours a day and they can pay their bill at a convenient time."
