A Better Region 8: Feeding Hungry Kids in Greene County

(KAIT) - Basketball legend John Wooden once said, "You can't live a perfect day without doing something for someone who will never be able to repay you."

What a powerful quote about paying it forward.

This week, Region 8 News did a story about Paragould businesses teaming up with Pay It Forward to feed hungry children in Greene County.

The Bust the Backpack Food Drive is in its fourth year and collects food at several locations and distributes it to kids who need it when they go on Spring Break.

Many times, Region 8 kids rely on school lunches for a good meal and when school is out for spring break, eating regular meals goes on hold for a week.

That's where Pay it Forward Paragould comes in.

They are looking for nonperishable food. Something that is easy to fix that a young child can go and get themselves.

You can drop off donations at Rogue Spa and Salon, Anytime Fitness, Hays Grocery Store West, Elements Salon, Swirls, First Class Cuts, Postnet and Downtown Gypsy through March 16th.

So let's get behind them and live that perfect day by doing something to help someone who will never be able to repay you.

Feeding Region 8 kids who might otherwise go hungry makes this A Better Region 8.
