POINSETT COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - The search of a home Friday in Poinsett County led to authorities finding drugs, drug paraphernalia and over $1,200 in cash as well as two people in custody.
According to Poinsett County Sheriff Kevin Molder, Parker Smith and Laura Smith of Harrisburg were arrested after Poinsett County deputies and Harrisburg police served a search warrant at a home in the 7300 block of Old Military Lane around 1:30 p.m. Friday.
In addition to drug paraphernalia and cash, officers found meth, marijuana and prescription pills during the search, Molder said.
Both Parker Smith and Laura Smith were arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance (meth) with the purpose to deliver (felony), possession of a controlled substance (Schedule IV - prescription pills-misdemeanor), possession of a controlled substance (Schedule VI-marijuana-misdemeanor) and possession of drug paraphernalia (felony).
Both were being held in the Poinsett County jail, awaiting a bond hearing Monday in the case, Molder said in a press release.
