JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The Miracle League of Jonesboro sign-ups are underway as baseball season approaches.

The league has grown much over the years; however, this year, Director Sharron Turman said they need more children to sign up.

Turman wants parents to know any child who struggles to participate in regular sports can play in the league, and they do not have to be from Jonesboro.

"We've got kids that drive from Batesville, Pocahontas, Marion, Caruthersville, I believe we have some Wynne children who've signed up, so it's all of Northeast Arkansas and Southeast Missouri," Turman said.

The sign-ups deadline is Thursday.

Turman said it cost $30 for spring ball or $50 for spring and fall ball.

"Along with ball players, we could use some more sponsors too," Turman said. "The sponsorship is $500 a team, and that put's the sponsor's name on the t-shirts for the spring and the fall," she said.

If you are interested in playing ball or sponsoring a Miracle League team, contact Turman at 870-882-5430 or visit the league's Facebook page here.
