JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Crime in Jonesboro, according to a newly released report, continues to decline.
The Jonesboro Police Department's monthly crime report released Wednesday reveals overall crime decreased 20% in February compared to the same time last year.
Officers responded to 1,026 NIBRS reportable offenses during the month.
Of those, police investigated:
- 20 crimes against persons
- 360 property crimes
- 258 crimes of proactive policing
- 388 other crimes
In February, officers made 458 arrests. Of those 65% were males and 35% were females. The majority of arrestees were Caucasian (50%) and African-American (48%). According to the report, African-American males made up the majority of arrestees at 37% followed by Caucasian males at 28%.
Hispanic males made up 1% and Hispanic females represent 0% of arrestees. Zero Asian males and females were arrested during February 2018.
