TRUMANN, AR (KAIT) - Roads continue to be an issue throughout the area.
But, the Arkansas Department of Transportation continues to take steps to improve them.
Specifically, Highway 69 in Trumann has been causing concerns recently.
Even some public officials have made calls about the area near the railroad tracks.
ARDOT District Construction Engineer Alan Walter said they know the area appears rough, but they also know the condition of the road is fairly stable.
However, Walter said they have a paving plan in the works for this summer.
"The pavement preservation job that's coming this summer that has already been let to contract is going to help address that," Walter said. "It will help smooth it out and get rid of some of the deteriorated pavement that's there."
Walter said the project will not change the overhead height restriction.
He said this will remain a residential traffic route.
But they are aware of the concerns and have a plan in place to fix it.
