LITTLE ROCK, AR (KAIT/KATV) - The officials for a White County water company have filed suit against a woman convicted of theft, asking for nearly $850,000 in damages in the case.
According to a report from KATV, the Southeast White County Water Association filed suit Jan. 8 against its former manager, Diana Woodle. The group is asking for $500,000 in punitive damages and $358,000 in actual damages.
State legislative auditors discovered that Woodle had overpaid herself nearly $250,000 from 2011 through May 2016, KATV reported, after officials discovered problems with suspicious credit card activity.
Woodle also made over $92,000 in personal purchases with a water company credit card and collected nearly $37,000 in medical reimbursements, KATV said in its report.
