JEFFERSON CITY, MO - An abundance of new laws were added to the books in Missouri on Sunday.
Most of the bills passed by the Legislature last session took effect at midnight.
They include everything from tougher punishment for sex offenders to new subsidies for businesses. Also taking effect today are new limits on medical malpractice and injury lawsuits, a reinstated fifty-cent fee for each new tire purchased, and tightened regulations on teen drinking.
