BAXTER COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - A woman faces an aggravated assault charge and a parole violation after she reportedly stabbed a man with a knife Wednesday night, Baxter County authorities said.
Melissa Ann Goodman of Midway was arrested around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday after Baxter County deputies went to a domestic disturbance on Highway 126 North.
According to a media release from Sheriff John Montgomery, deputies got a 911 call about the situation.
"Due to the nature of the 911 call, Deputy Tracy Munson was able to gain access to the residence and found the victim sitting in a chair holding his leg with blood soaking through his jeans," Montgomery said. "Deputy Munson seized a knife that had blood on it clipped to the suspect's front pocket."
The victim told deputies that he and Goodman had gotten into an argument "when the suspect, Melissa Goodman, pulled a knife from her pocket and started waving it around and started stabbing the victim in the leg," Montgomery said.
A $25,000 bond was set for Goodman on the aggravated assault charge, while no bond was set for the parole violation charge, Montgomery said.
Goodman will be arraigned April 12 in circuit court.
