(KAIT/NBC) - A series of airports in Florida are working with area hospitals to help new mothers who are wanting to nurse their babies but need a quiet place to do so.
According to NBC, an app can be used to find a Mamava pod and will unlock the pod for the mother.
Mary O'Connor, who works in childbirth education and lactation services at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, said the program helps both the mother and child.
"Mothers can go in there, have a relief for a moment from the stress of traveling, they can bring their bags in," O'Connor said. "If they're traveling with other children, the children are in a safe space with them. The mother can concentrate on feeding her baby or expressing her milk."
In addition to airports, the pods can be found in schools, stadiums, hospitals and convention centers around the country, NBC reported.
