KAAAWA (HawaiiNewsNow) -

From snow on the Big Island to water spouts on Oahu, Hawaii has seen some wild weather the last few days.

Early Sunday evening, viewers sent photos to Hawaii News Now of a large waterspout on the windward side.

The tower of spinning water could be seen from miles away. Viewers reported seeing the spout from Kaaawa, Laie and other east side towns.

The weather phenomenon was visible around 6:30 p.m.

"Fair weather waterspouts usually form along the dark flat base of a line of developing cumulus clouds. This type of waterspout is generally not associated with thunderstorms. While tornadic waterspouts develop downward in a thunderstorm, a fair weather waterspout develops on the surface of the water and works its way upward," according to NOAA.

Recent wild weather brought unstable conditions and heavy rains to parts of the state.
