3 arrested after illegal gambling machines found during search

MARKED TREE, AR (KAIT) -

Three people were arrested Monday after a sheriff says illegal gambling machines were found during the execution of search warrants.

Poinsett County Sheriff Kevin Molder states the arrests were made at the Chicken Stop, 109 State Highway 14/Dustin King Road, and Midway Mart, 302 Elm St., in Marked Tree.

Deputies reportedly found eight illegal gambling machines total while serving search warrants at the convenience stores as well as drug paraphernalia. Two teams served the warrants around 10:30 a.m.

The following suspects were arrested and taken to the Poinsett County Detention Center:

  • Alaa Aldeen Moha Al Murisi, 24, of West Memphis, AR-charged with illegal drug paraphernalia business, criminal use of property or laundering criminal proceeds, and keeping a gambling house
  • Mohammed Musaed Abdulla, 46, of Marked Tree, AR-charged with illegal drug paraphernalia business, criminal use of property or laundering criminal proceeds, and keeping a gambling house
  • Said Shadad Said, 30, of Marked Tree, AR-charged with illegal drug paraphernalia business, criminal use of property or laundering criminal proceeds, and keeping a gambling house

The investigation is ongoing.
