PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) - Paragould police have arrested a man suspected of stabbing and killing a family member.
Officers arrested Frank D. Prejean, 51, of Beech Grove Monday night on suspicion of first-degree murder.
He's being held without bond awaiting a probable cause appearance in Greene County District Court.
According to Detective Jack Hailey with the Paragould Police Department, Prejean is accused of stabbing Hunter Prejean during an argument in the Pecan Grove area of north Paragould.
According to a probable cause affidavit, a witness claimed Frank Prejean struck the victim "several times with a cane and then stab him."
The victim was taken to a local hospital where he later died.
The witness said she also saw Prejean strike a female family member in the head with the cane, the documents said. The female victim, according to the affidavit, had 1.5" laceration behind her ear.
On Tuesday, Greene County District Judge Daniel T. Stidham found probable cause to arrest Frank Prejean with first-degree murder and second-degree battery. Stidham ordered he be held without bond pending his next court appearance.
