TRUMANN, AR (KAIT) - In anticipation of stormy weather, some areas of Region 8 prepared for it.
Trumann city workers fought Tuesday to beat the rain.
Members of the Truman Public Works Department cleaned out ditches and culverts.
They want to try and prevent any flooding that might happen over the next three days of rainfall.
Mayor Barbara Lewellen said there is something residents can do to help them in their efforts.
"If they are mowing and they have grass to please not put it in the ditches because grass, leaves, that builds up and clogs up the culverts and it prevents the water from flowing and draining away from the property like it needs to be," Lewallen said.
Rain is expected to hit Region 8 Tuesday night and stay through Thursday.
