ROGERS, AR (KAIT/KNWA) - Many roadways across northwest Arkansas were deemed impassable by officials Tuesday as heavy rain pounded the area, creating flooded roadways.

According to NBC affiliate KNWA, the Benton County Road Department spent their day erecting barricades across the region to keep drivers safe.

Officials want to warn drivers that should you choose to drive past the barricade, you're not only putting your life in danger but possibly endangering the lives of others.

"If you do ignore those cones and you go out there and get stuck, now you're having to ask someone for the fire department, for the police department to go out and rescue you plus all the damage to the car," Keith Foster, an officer with the Rogers Police Dept., said.
