LITTLE ROCK, AR (KAIT/KARK) -

A new group is hoping to bring four casinos to Arkansas while another group is trying to bring some to two other counties.

The group, Arkansas Wins 2018, submitted their proposal to the Arkansas Attorney General's Office on Tuesday.

Those counties include Pulaski, Benton, Boone, and Miller.

The other group, Driving Arkansas Forward, is trying for a third time to bring two casinos for Pope and Jefferson.

Alex Gray, a representative for Driving Arkansas Forward, said the group has a local control measure in its proposal.

The township that applies will have to get letters of approval from the city mayor and county judge.

Arkansas Wins 2018 will require an opposing group to gather signatures.

"They would have to get approximately 80,000 signatures from registered voters in Pulaski County alone from November 7th to January 7th, so you're going to have Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years to get 80,000 registered voters to sign a petition in Pulaski County? It's impossible," said Gray.

Driving Arkansas Forward hopes to hear from the state attorney general's office soon.

If both proposals are approved, they'll have to gather enough signatures from registered voters to make the November 2018 ballot.
