JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A Jonesboro businessman discovered someone broke into his business early Friday morning.

According to a Jonesboro police incident report, Tom Smith, owner of Tom's Lock and Key, told officers someone kicked open the door to his business and stole money from his register.

Smith said it happened sometime after he closed up shop around 5 p.m. Thursday and early Friday morning.

The officer "observed that a wooden door on the north side of the business was heavily damaged," according to the report. "It had been kicked so hard that the locking mechanism had been separated from the door and the door itself had split apart."

The report said nothing other than money had been stolen.

There was no surveillance video available and police do not have any suspects.
