BROOKLAND, AR (KAIT) - Easter celebrations started early at Brookland High School Saturday morning.
The Habitat for Humanity Brookland Chapter hosted its first Hopping for Humanity event.
It included 60 runners taking part in a 5K run, all to benefit Brookland residents.
The money raised will help improve the homes of people who cannot afford repairs.
"We can go in like if someone needs a new roof, or steps to go into their house, windows painted, things like that, fix those things," Chapter Co-Sponsor Melany Bowman said.
Sponsors gave credit to Brookland High School students who are a part of the chapter for orchestrating the event.
Top-placing participants in each age division walked away with a medal.
