JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - An event was held Thursday to remember child abuse victims as pinwheels were placed on the grounds of the Craighead County Courthouse.

The month of April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

According to the Jonesboro Police Department Citizen Police Ambassador Facebook page, students from the University Heights Honor Society sang "Somewhere over the Rainbow" and "Love Can Build a Bridge" at the event.

Several officials also attended the event, including Jonesboro Mayor Harold Perrin, Jonesboro Police Chief Rick Elliott and Second Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Scott Ellington.
