HARRISBURG, AR (KAIT) - A nearly 20-minute long pursuit in and around Harrisburg has two people in custody facing a multitude of charges.
According to Harrisburg Police Lt. Justin Kimble, Devin Laden and Christi Terrell were arrested Friday after the vehicle wrecked near W.D. Thomas Road south of Harrisburg.
Laden ran from police and another officer arrested him, Kimble said.
The pursuit reached speeds in excess of 110 mph, including nearly 70 mph on gravel roads, Kimble said. Police had been looking for the pair after a vehicle driven by Terrell was involved in a crash and left the scene.
Police later found the vehicle at a local hotel, Kimble said.
Laden, who had a warrant for his arrest, was arrested on suspicion of fleeing, reckless driving, possession of meth, driving on a suspended license, and fleeing on foot. Terrell was arrested on suspicion of possession of meth, careless and prohibited driving, possession of a controlled substance schedule IV and allowing an unauthorized person to drive.
Kimble said both were being held Friday in the Poinsett County jail, awaiting a probable cause hearing.
