CLEBURNE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - A sheriff announced his deputies will carrying a life-saving nasal spray in light of the growing opioid epidemic.
Cleburne County Sheriff Chris Brown stated in a news release Monday his deputies are now equipped with Narcan spray.
The spray is used to help combat the deadly effects of an opioid overdose, whether it be accidental exposure or someone illegally abusing the drug.
"We have been fortunate that we here in Cleburne County haven't been as affected as other places, even here in Arkansas, but it does exist and it is something that we are fighting," the sheriff said in the release.
If you have unused prescription drugs you are trying to get rid of, the sheriff's office has a drug drop off box located in the lobby of the jail.
