TRUMANN, AR (KAIT) - A Trumann man is charged with rape after a girl told police she awoke to him "touching her stuff."

The 13-year-old victim reported the alleged crime occurred early Sunday morning at an apartment complex on Main Street in Trumann, according to the initial incident report.

The girl said she was spending the night with a friend when she awoke to find 41-year-old Christopher Todd Brady standing naked over her, "touching her stuff."

The victim told police she "locked her knees together in an attempt to make Mr. Brady stop." When she did, she claimed Brady tried to pull down her panties.

At that time she began to roll over, "acting as if she was waking up," and Brady ran upstairs.

The girl said she told her friend's mother who then drove both girls to the victim's home. Her parents then notified police.

After talking to the girl, investigators sent the child to a Jonesboro hospital. She was later taken to Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock for testing.

Officers went to the apartment on Main Street and took Brady into custody.

According to the report, he had "several cuts, scratches, and abrasions on his face, head, arms, and hands." When asked what happened to him, Brady alleged several guys had "jumped him." He reportedly said one of his attackers was the victim's father, but refused to press charges.

On Monday, April 9, Brady appeared before a judge who found probable cause existed at the time of his arrest to charge him with rape.

Brady remains in the Poinsett County Jail on a $250,000 cash-only bond awaiting his next court appearance on May 29.
