CORNING, AR (KAIT) - A group in Corning is in the planning stages of work on an ordinance that would establish zoning.
The ordinance would regulate where homes can be placed in Corning.
Officials say the new ordinance would particularly impact mobile home owners.
They say it would prevent people from putting the mobile homes in certain areas.
"A good example of that would be manufactured homes that get moved without a permit that aren't properly set up," James Walden, the consultant working with the city, said.
The group plans to hold a public hearing to inform citizens and allow them to share their thoughts.
The public meeting will be held in the next couple of months and the city council would take a look at the ordinance.
The ordinance could be passed as soon as July.
However, current mobile home owners will not be affected by any changes.
