FORREST CITY, AR (KAIT) - A man is behind bars after police say he locked a woman in a room and then told her to lay the kids down before he threatened to kill her.
According to the Forrest City Police Facebook page, officers were called to a welfare check in the 200-block of Laney Drive Wednesday.
Officers were unable to make contact at that time, but the next day they received additional intelligence stating that there was a female being held hostage at the location.
Officers were able to make contact with the female victim and Brian Gray in a vehicle at the residence.
Officers noticed the female victim was physically trembling.
The victim stated Gray had physically locked her in a room with the windows screwed down to prevent her escape.
The victim then stated that Gray made her lay the kids down before threatening to kill her and bury her in the backyard.
The victim also had visible injuries to her body, police said.
Gray was arrested for domestic battery, endangering the welfare of a minor, terroristic threatening, false imprisonment, and aggravated assault on a family or household member.
Forrest City Police Chief Deon Lee said, "This is not Mr. Gray's first run-in with the law and this appears to be a trending set of events of which he is constantly involved. Mr. Gray needs to learn that his violent actions have serious consequences and it is my hope that the judicial system holds him accountable for his actions. It is also my hope that he rehabilitates himself and learns to control himself in the future."
