Man sentenced to 12 years in fatal crash

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A jury Friday found Robert Howard Callahan of Beech Grove guilty of negligent homicide in a 2016 crash that claimed a woman's life.

According to Prosecuting Attorney Scott Ellington, the jury sentenced Callahan to 12 years in prison.

Investigators say Callahan's blood alcohol content (BAC) was .19 at the time of the fatal November crash.

Geraldine Anderson, 69, died from injuries she sustained in the collision at the intersection of Main and Johnson Avenue in Jonesboro. Aretha Ferrell, 48, and a 17-year-old were also injured.

Officers observed beer cans and a cooler beside Callahan's SUV, court documents stated.
