ST. FRANCIS COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - The First Judicial Task Force arrested an Arkansas man who they say tried to seduce someone he thought was a teen girl.
According to the task force's Facebook page, Russell McBride, 52, of Marianna, had a sexually explicit conversation with what he believed was a 14-year-old girl.
McBride sent the individual comments about wanting to perform sex acts on her, explicit videos, and pictures.
McBride set up times to meet with the individual stating the child was worth going to prison over, but he never showed.
The task force said that's when it executed a search warrant with Marianna police where he lived with his mother.
McBride is already a felon and investigators say they found six guns in his room.
During an interview with investigators, he admitted to sending the messages. However, he told them he was only trying to investigate the situation.
He said he believed the person wanted money or was trying to rob him.
The task force said he never contacted law enforcement about his investigation.
McBride is in the St. Francis County Jail on an internet stalking of a child charge.
More charges could be filed against McBride from Lee County.
He will appear in St. Francis County District Court on Wednesday where a judge should set a bond.
