CRAIGHEAD COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

You can now see where your tax dollars are spent in Craighead County at the tip of your fingers.

Craighead County Clerk, Kade Holliday launched an online access portal for residents.

“We did this so citizens can go on there and have a plethora of information that is housed in this office,” Holliday said.

It offers numerous records access and a variety of different forms among other things.

“You can look at marriage records, you can have access to Do Business As licenses that we have,” Holliday said.

The portal also includes election filings and quorum court information.

The new website’s primary objective is to bring an online checkbook for citizens to view.

“My philosophy has always been that an open government is a safe government and I believe the citizens should have access to this data, so you can hold your elected officials accountable for what they say they are going to do versus going out and saying you are going to be conservative with their money,” Holliday said.

New data gets pushed out on the 15th and 30th of each month

“The goal is to actually, over the next two years, flesh this all the way out to where you have access to every record in the entire office,” Holliday said.

You can browse the new portal at www.craigheadclerk.com
