JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The city of Jonesboro now has a new sidewalk ordinance.
The Jonesboro City Council passed an amended ordinance Tuesday that provide a minimum standard for sidewalks inside the city.
The ordinance called for several general requirements that should be applied for the construction of sidewalks in Jonesboro.
The ordinance was originally passed on the third reading by the city council, but a member in the audience told the council he felt there wasn't adequate time for public comment on the amendment before council members voted on it.
A motion was made to bring the ordinance back on the floor, which the council agreed to.
After public comment, and comment by the council, the ordinance was put back on to a vote at which time it passed.
