Road projects approved across NE Arkansas

LITTLE ROCK, AR (KAIT) -

Many road project bids around Northeast Arkansas have been approved by the Arkansas State Highway Commission.

According to the Arkansas Department of Transportation, the following projects are approved:

Crittenden County:

  • Replace the existing bridge on State Highway 42 with a box culvert west of Turrell. Meadows Contractors, LLC of Jonesboro was awarded the contract at $426,323.95.

Greene County: 

  • Resurface 13 miles of State Highway 135 between U.S. Highway 49B and Hooker. Delta Asphalt of Ark., Inc. of Paragould was awarded the contract at $3,430,930.64.

Jackson/White County:

  • Resurface 2.4 miles of County Road 29 from State Highway 37 to County Road 117. Atlas Asphalt, Inc. of Batesville was awarded the contract at $293,825.60
  • Resurface 7.2 miles of U.S. Highway 167 between Velvet Ridge north of State Highway 87. Atlas Asphalt, Inc. of Batesville was awarded the contract at $2,797,305.05.
  • Resurface selected sections of U.S. Highways 64 and 67B in Beebe. Rogers Group, Inc. of Nashville, TN was awarded the contract at $1,705,692.85.

Lawrence/Randolph County:

  • Resurface selected sections of various roads in Imboden to include W 5th St., Greyhound Cr., S. Tennessee St., and S. Kentucky St.; various roads in Ravenden to include S. Second St., W Main St., N. Clements St., and E. Simington Rd.; and various roads in Ravenden Springs to include Valley Chapel Rd., Upper Janes Creek Rd., Elm St., Sunshine Valley, Hickory St., Pine St., Oak St., Prospect St., and Ash St. Asphalt Producers, LLC of Jonesboro was awarded the contract at $426,548.96. 
  • Resurface selected sections of various roads in Black Rock to include Sixth St., Cedar St., Hilltop Trail Dr., Matthews Dr., and Shelton Lane; various roads in Portia to include Free St., Lawrence St., Walnut St., Grove, Coffman, and Cross Roads; and various roads in Sedgwick to include Maple St., North Elsie Ave., Lawrence County Road 724, Cypress St., Smith Ave., and Dowell St. Asphalt Producers, LLC of Jonesboro was awarded the contract at $453,533.40.
  • Resurface 6.6 miles of State Highway 90 between U.S. Highway 67 and extending westward. Delta Asphalt of Ark., Inc. of Paragould was awarded the contract at $1,647,104.17.

Mississippi County:

  • Resurface 6.7 miles of U.S. Highway 61 between State Highways 14 and 198. Delta Asphalt of Ark., Inc. of Paragould was awarded the contract at $1,816,456.18.

Poinsett County:

  • Resurface 2.8 miles of State Highway 140 from Left Hand Chute of Little River extending eastward. Atlas Asphalt, Inc. of Batesville was awarded the contract at $696,917.25.

 Sharp County:

  • Resurface 4 miles of State Highway 175 from U.S. Highway 62 and the Fulton County line. Atlas Asphalt, Inc. of Batesville was awarded the contract at $648,421.86.

Woodruff County:

  • Resurface selected sections of various roads in Cotton Plant to include Ash, Carter, Susie, MLK, 1st, Mabel, Elm, Sycamore, and Oak; and in McCrory to include Jackson, Barbers, David, Johnson, and Angelo Dr. Sugg Construction, Inc. of Jonesboro was awarded the contract at $484,730.60.

ArDOT states construction is expected to start in two to four weeks, weather permitting. Completion is expected by the middle of 2018.
