Questions remain as authorities investigate possible murder/suicide

POPE COUNTY, AR (KAIT/KARK) -

A sheriff said Wednesday that the scene inside a Pope County home was horrific as authorities attempt to piece together why two people at the home died.

According to a report from Little Rock television station KARK, Keith Cogswell and his wife, Leanna, were found dead in their home Tuesday. Police believe the couple was shot and that the deadly shooting was due to some sort of fight between the couple.

Cogswell owned a car dealership in the Russellville area, as well as other businesses, KARK reported.

Pope County Sheriff Shane Jones said the couple was well thought of in the community and the deaths were a shock.

"Very hard situation for the entire community," Jones told KARK. "They were both sweet people and it's just a tragedy. He was friends with everybody. Both of them were. They were just good people, good people of the community."

Also, the couple had children who were not at home when the incident happened, KARK reported.
