JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

It costs a lot to run an animal shelter like the Northeast Arkansas Humane Society. Cleaning supplies, towels, laundry detergent and, of course, medical needs are all written down and listed on cards posted prominently at each "Pints for Paws" event at Skinny J's.

Patrons of the business pick out a card to fill a specific NEAHS "need" and donate the cash.

"Each one is sponsored by a different craft beer brewery," Janie Krennerich, NEAHS volunteer, said. "We have a lot of merchandise. We have a lot of pictures there. We sell t-shirts there. We've raised $6,000 dollars through the Pints for Paws events.

A percentage of sales through the event that night also goes to "Pints for Paws."

The next "Pints for Paws" happens April 19 and features Founders Brewing Company. Hours for the event are from 5 – 8 p.m.
