CLAY COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - The Clay County Quorum Court recently approved the purchase of two new vehicles for the sheriff's department.
The sheriff's department will use $25,000 from a USDA grant to help purchase the new cars.
County Judge Mike Patterson says the new cars will greatly help the county.
"It's very important because you just take an extra $25,000, a lot of times, $5,000, $10,000 or $20,000 anything helps-where you don't have to pay all that out of your own budget," Patterson said.
Patterson said the sheriff's department applies for the grant each year to help replace vehicles.
