JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

Walmart had more to offer than just low-cost items Saturday. The company provided an opportunity for health improvement.

Walmart stores held their second annual Walmart Wellness Day.

Customers had the opportunity to have a free health screening done.

Information learned included blood glucose, blood pressure and body mass index.

Low-cost immunizations were available in Jonesboro and vision screenings in select stores.

“If you catch high blood pressure early, if you catch diabetes at the early stages, we can do things to reverse it,” Walmart Pharmacy Manager Russ Pierce said. “Now that's not true of every type of health condition, but these are some of the biggest killers in the United States. So, that's why we're choosing to offer those things.”

Since its first Walmart Wellness Day, Walmart has provided more than two million free screenings across the country.

If you missed Wellness Day, you'll get another chance. Due the success and popularity of the event, they now hold quarterly free health screenings.
