JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Valley View High School held its second annual Best Buddies Prom Saturday night.
From what a Region 8 News crew saw, the dance floor was on fire.
Best Buddies is a national organization that pairs special needs students with general education students to develop lifelong friendships.
"Out of the whole state of Arkansas, there's only three Best Buddies groups," Caroline Adams, vice president of Valley View Best Buddies, said. "It's so important to us to be able to get together like this and have fun."
Students paired with their best buddies to dance the night away.
Some of their favorite songs they danced to included "YMCA".
"They don't always have the chance to dress up and wear a crown and be the star because sometimes people just look at them different, but tonight is a night that all the labels are broken," Alexis Kapales, president of Valley View Best Buddies said.
Many local businesses and people stepped up to donate prom attire for both the girls and boys.
