WALNUT RIDGE, AR (KAIT) -

A police department states they are shutting down their Facebook page temporarily. The move comes during the same time the department is facing a lawsuit.

On Sunday, the Walnut Ridge Police Department issued a statement on their Facebook page stating the page would be taken down by noon Monday.

The same post also stated, "This will allow us time for the department to develop an acceptable social media policy. We hope to have the page back up in the coming months."

As of about 1 p.m. Monday, the page was still up and running.

Coincidentally, the department is facing a facing a lawsuit filed earlier in the month on behalf of Adam Finley. Finley alleges he was unlawfully arrested, assaulted, and harassed by Walnut Ridge police.

The department's chief and another officer are currently on administrative leave.
