LITTLE ROCK, AR (KAIT/KARK) -

One of two suspects charged in the shooting death of a two-year-old girl in Nov. 2016 pleaded guilty to first-degree murder charges in Pulaski Circuit Court Monday.

According to a report from NBC affiliate KARK, a judge sentenced Deshaun Rushing to 30 years in prison following his guilty plea.

Two-year-old Ramiya Reed was riding in a car when Rushing shot into the vehicle, killing Reed and sparking violent crime across Little Rock.

According to prosecutors, Reed's family is "happy" with the sentence.
