Police warn of syringes found in public areas

STEELE, MO (KAIT) -

The Steele Police Department is warning citizens after someone found a syringe near his property.

According to a Facebook post by the department, they syringe was found near a public sidewalk.

Police say it is not the first time they have found syringes in public areas

Police emphasized that syringes can be found anywhere and warned of possible exposure to hepatitis or the HIV virus.

Anyone who discovers a syringe is asked to not pick it up and instead, call police at (573) 695-3411.
