JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - An event held in Downtown Jonesboro each month during the spring, summer and early fall is making some changes, with officials hopeful that the changes will bring more people to the area.
According to its Facebook page, the Downtown Jonesboro Alive After Five event is a street market held on the third Thursday of each month from May through October from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
This year, the event will be held in the parking lot by Eleanor's Pizzeria on Main Street. The event has been held on Huntington and Church Streets, but the move will no longer force both streets to be closed.
Cody Moore, who serves as director of events for the Downtown Jonesboro group, said the change will help in a multitude of ways.
"We just see that moving has the opportunity to bring more people in - the older crowds, younger crowds, we want everyone to feel welcomed in Downtown Jonesboro. We feel like this location is a prime spot to bring all kinds of people," Moore said.
In addition to the event, organizers plan to have sunset yoga, live paint classes and arts and crafts at Alive After Five.
