PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) -

A Greene County man was arrested this week after he reportedly failed to comply with reporting requirements involving sex offenders.

According to Paragould police, Travis Mekan of Paragould was arrested Monday, April 23 when officers went to the 200-block of South Rockingchair Road after getting a call about a man going through people's yards.

Officers said in a probable cause affidavit that Mekan was required by "Arkansas state law to report any address change to law enforcement" and that he had reported in December 2017 that his address was in the 1100-block of Roberts Drive in Paragould.

However, authorities allege that Mekan did not update his address with law enforcement since then.
