PARAGOULD, AR (KAIT) - A man is accused of hitting a victim as they attempted to call for help, Paragould police said Thursday.
Logan M. Robertson of Paragould was arrested April 25 on suspicion of second-degree battery and first-degree criminal mischief after police got a call to go to a residence in the 1300-block of Amanda Lane.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Robertson and another man were involved in a physical altercation.
"Robertson attained possession of a pistol belonging to the victim and struck him over the head and in the face multiple times with the firearm," the affidavit read. "Robertson then took a phone that the victim was trying to use to call his father for help and destroyed it."
The victim had serious injuries, police said.
A $10,000 cash bond was set Thursday for Robertson. A no-contact order with the victim, witnesses or anyone else involved in the case was also filed, and Robertson is not allowed to possess any weapons, the affidavit noted.
