JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) -

A Jonesboro man injured in a shooting Wednesday has passed away.

Devontae Dewayne Fowler, 20, died after he was seriously injured in the shooting, according to Jonesboro Police Chief Rick Elliott.

A news release from JPD states Fowler was taken to a local hospital after the shooting and placed on life support after "suffering a traumatic brain injury" by gunfire.

On Thursday around 6 p.m., he was removed from life support and was pronounced dead around 11 p.m.

Detectives now consider this case to be a homicide. They are currently following "numerous leads" in this investigation.

JPD Public Information Officer Cpl. David McDaniel says no arrests have been made in the shooting.

Anyone with information about the shooting can call 870-935-6710. To make an anonymous tip call Crimestoppers at 870-935-STOP (7867).

Fowler was also one of six people wounded last May in a shooting in downtown Jonesboro.
