LAWRENCE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) -

A new mapping system will soon help with elections in Lawrence County.

Arkansas One Map can be used by assessors, collectors, judges and many other county officials.

Lawrence County Clerk Tina Stowers said the new system will serve an important purpose during election season.

Her office has been working to learn the new system and it could be up and running as the first week of May.

"In this system, they also have our voting precincts lines in there," she said.  "So, if we put in an address it will pull it and show it exactly where it's supposed to be."

Stowers said by simply putting in person's name and address, important voting information can be revealed in the program.

The new system will also help people who are running for election find out where their voters are located in the county.

Stowers said the new system could also eventually be used to help poll workers with their jobs.
